Savon du Midi Soap Lemongrass Soap is traditionally crafted in Provence, France, following the time honoured methods of Marseille soap making. Produced in small factories where knowledge has been passed down through generations, each bar reflects authentic French soap-making heritage.

Made using organically certified essential oils, the soap is carefully blended to create its distinctive quality and fragrance. After saponification, organic shea butter is added along with honey, essential oils or perfume, depending on the variety. The result is a mild, creamy lather that gently cleanses the skin. These soaps are made without animal fat.

Where and how are Savon du Midi soaps manufactured?

All Savon du Midi soaps have been made with soap noodles (soap base) from organic palm oil and organic palm kernel oil since the brand was created over 30 years ago. The basic saponification process takes place in the country of origin (Colombia) and guarantees that the organic palm oil producers receive a share of the first net product.
The plantations from which the organic palm oil for all Savon du Midi soaps are sourced have been run by family businesses for several generations and carry the Rainforest Alliance certification. This supports the organic cultivation of palm oil in Colombia and prevents these areas from being farmed conventionally.

Why does Savon du Midi support the cultivation of organic palm oil?

If the demand for organic palm oil decreases, areas that were previously sustainably and well managed will become more and more accessible to conventional cultivation. Savon du Mini aims to prevent this from occurring.

How is the production process carried out further?

The raw materials for production are carefully purchased, audited and controlled. This means that organic soap noodles can be processed into fragrant, colourful soaps in France according to the highest cosmetic standards (BDIH - Cosmos Organic).
