Organic sencha is made from green tea leaves that are cultivated in direct sunlight and are harvested in the first or second flush of the tea harvest, considered the best quality leaves for a finer tasting sencha tea. The sencha is then combined with organic, sustainably sourced turmeric, which delivers a rich and rustic flavour. The final flourish is the addition of finely milled, shade-grown organic matcha which comes from Uji, a region high in the hills around Kyoto, renowned for producing the best Japanese teas.
