Rich, earthy and resinous, myrrh essential oil is traditionally used in aromatherapy to promote calm, reflection and a grounding atmosphere. Its warm, balsamic scent has long been valued for meditation, relaxation and creating a sense of stillness. It blends beautifully with frankincense, sandalwood, patchouli or citrus oils.

Ways to use

• Add 3–5 drops to a diffuser for a deep, grounding aroma.
• Blend 1–2 drops per 10ml carrier oil for massage or pulse point application.
• Add 2–3 drops to a bath base or unscented shower gel for a soothing soak.
• Place 1–2 drops on a scent stone or tissue during meditation or quiet time.
• Combine with frankincense for a classic, calming diffuser blend.
