Stress Free Christmas

Stress Free Christmas

Christmas is almost here I am finding that hard to believe. It’s an exciting time for many of you, full of excitement and joy. But, some of you may get very stressed by it all. There can be a lot of things to organise and this can cause a lot of stress. Or, maybe you just don’t like this time of year.

Delegate and ease the stress

I find that when I am stressed I kind of forget to do the things that could help me cope better. I am often in the thick of it before I realise and then I remember things that could have helped me. If you are feeling stressed there are things that you can do to help alleviate it. Simple things like going to bed early, delegating my list of jobs, taking a few minutes to relax, eating regularly.

Tips to help you get to sleep

If you’re having difficulty sleeping, add a few drops of Tisserand Lavender essential oil or BetterYou Magnesium Sleep flakes to your bath, to help you relax so you can get off to sleep more easily. Maybe a cup of herbal tea will help – Dr Stuarts Valerian Plus, Salus Lemon Balm help to reduce anxiety, or Clipper Sleep Easy to help you get to sleep. Counting sheep might work too, mind you, that only ever put me in a bad mood!

If you prefer, there are Melissa Dream tablets, one of our most popular supplements for restful sleep. It contains Lemon Balm, one of my favourite herbs for relaxation and sleep. There’s L Theanine to help calm the mind, plus B vitamins and magnesium. Lots of our customers report getting a restful night’s sleep when using it.

If on the other hand you are sleeping well but still feeling stressed during the day then consider Ashwagandha. Irish brand One Nutrition Ashwagandha contains KSM-66 Vegan Ashwagandha with magnesium, and zinc too to support cognitive and immune function. It’s one of the best remedies to help reduce stress and support energy levels too.

Stress can affect digestion too

Stress can affect digestion causing you symptoms of bloating, wind, and general digestive discomfort. Herbal teas that contain fennel, ginger, or peppermint can help. Irish Botanica Milk Thistle drops are ideal to use during and after the festive season.

I hope these tips will help you have a stress-free festive season.
