Staff Favourites for 2024

AoifeRose my colleague  here at the shop was curious to what staple foods and supplements our work mates adore, so she asked some of the Natural Health Store team what they love & why. And here is what she found out. These might be your personal favourites too.

Wendy told her that she adores Wild Atlantic Ocean Pure Omega 3 for its high omega content.

“It’s great for the brain and every cell in the body! It includes DPA which is another omega 3 that most other omega 3’s don’t include. It is helpful in reducing LDL cholesterol to triglycerides. I love how it’s high in vitamin E—an excellent antioxidant, and vitamin D too which is essential for mood, bone and immune health.” And she is very happy to support an Irish brand too.

Tasha is a tea-fanatic and picked Pukka’s Camomile and Manuka Honey as her absolute favourite; “It’s so cosy; like a warm hug on a winters evening.” Self-care is essential, especially throughout the long winter evenings. Herbal teas are a great addition to your press.

Seesta is perfect to help get a good night's sleep

Samina picked a popular personal and customer favourite:

“If you struggle to sleep, you are getting up in the middle of the night or you are tossing and turning with not a wink to be had Irish Botanica Seesta, is definitely the product I would reach for. It not only helps you sleep better with ingredients like magnesium, KSM66 Ashwagandha, Camomile and Hops - it can also actively reset your sleep cycle, meaning that you don’t have to take this long term to reap the benefits. I found it especially helpful during life changes and periods of stress, when I needed that little extra support.” Take it about two hours before bed, it can be taken in the day for daytime stress if needed.

CoQ10 is the protective of the heart

Davina’s ‘go-to’ is One Nutrition’s Co-Q-10:

“Co-Q-10 is a nutrient made by the body, involved in energy production. It is very protective in terms of heart health. It’s found in food, and we can make it ourselves, but as we age our ability to produce it declines … I have used it for years as part of my supplement programme. It is protective for my heart health, especially being post-menopausal. It is also excellent for gum health and found in many natural toothpastes and mouthwash.

I recommend any person with a family history of heart health, or anyone currently taking stating for high cholesterol to incorporate Co-Q-10 daily.”

Milk Thistle the amazing liver supporter

AoifeRoses personal staple is A. Vogel’s Milk Thistle Complex Oral Drops. Here is what she said, "Milk thistle is very effective as a liver detoxifier. This tincture also contains dandelion which is a gentle diuretic that helps flush out the toxins that naturally build up in the liver. Living with Autoimmune Hepatitis has been difficult for me; liver health is paramount. As a young woman, I understand the importance of hormone health too. Old hormones are stored in the liver and sometimes they need a helping hand to be recycled, to make way for new hormones, helping to maintain a healthy menstrual cycle".

"I feel a great benefit taking my milk thistle. It is so convenient: 15-20 drops in a glass of water, twice a day—simple! No foul taste and no nasty side effects, and my liver is most certainly happier with the extra support".

These are just a handful of our favourite products to help support health – in every aspect of the word.
