Spring Changes

Time for change

I don’t think I am the only person who is glad to see the back of January. Every year I have a moan about feeling the need to make New Years Resolutions in January. It has to be the hardest time of the year to make changes to your diet or lifestyle habits. I always start off with good in intentions and then by week two they fall by the way side.

February is a much nicer month to start making changes. Spring is in the air and it is a time of renewal and fresh starts. So put the January blues behind you and make way for a fresher brighter Spring.

Healthy Diet

Spring is a great season to start looking at making changes to your lifestyle. And what better start than to look at a healthier diet. As the weather warms up a bit and days start to get longer you can also start to shed your winter coats. It’s the perfect time to consider making some changes to your eating habits.

One of the most effective ways to do this is by embracing seasonal ingredients. Spring brings an abundance of fresh produce, from crisp greens like spinach and kale, to juicy fruits like strawberries and new potatoes. These foods are not only delicious, but also packed with vitamins and minerals that will help you feel your best as you transition into the new season.

Farmers Market

If you are lucky enough to to have a farmers market near you, shopping at farmers markets is a great way to get fresh, seasonal produce and support your local farmers. When you shop at a farmers market, you get to meet the people who grow your food, and by chatting to them you learn about their growing practices, and they will always have great ideas and recipes to share on the best way to prepare and store the produce.

Shopping at your local farmers market makes a big difference and has such a positive impact on on your community an environment. By buying directly from local farmers, you are supporting a small business and keeping money in your local economy. Arrive early though for the best selection!
