Balance Your Nerves With Rescue Remedy

Are you feeling nervous or stressed about your exams? It is normal to feel a bit nervous, anxious, or panicky. It’s not a problem unless it’s affecting your sleep, concentration, or cognitive ability. I know that many of you are starting to feel the nerves.

Here are some tips to help you deal with stress, nerves, and anxiety around starting the exams so you can perform your best. Take time to relax and choose a simple technique like deep breathing, meditation, or visualisation. Essential oils like Lavender in your oil diffuser may create a nice relaxing environment for you. Tisserand Total De Stress Relief Roller Ball is ideal for rolling on your pulse point to help relaxation. Some people prefer incense sticks, you could choose from Relax, Stress, or Meditation. You can burn these in the room that you are resting the night before the exams.

If you are feeling stressed or anxious and it is not affecting your sleep you could consider Bach Flower Rescue Remedy. It is available in drops, spray or pastilles. I mostly use the drops because I can add them to a bottle of water and sip them throughout the day.  I find them brilliant for situations where I feel nervous or anxious, in particular before radio interviews which I do regularly. For days when my anxiety is heightened, and this can happen for no reason at all I add some of the Flower Remedy  Aspen to my water. Aspen is the flower remedy for anxiety for unknown reason. For exam students it can be anxiety around not knowing if you will remember the answers or the not knowing what question will come up. This nervousness can manifest as palpitations or nervous tummy accompanied with an urgent need to go to the loo.

Lack of sleep can increase anxiety levels

A lack of sleep can increase anxiety levels and impact on your stress response meaning that your coping abilities are not as good as they normally would be. Lack of sleep can impair cognitive function too and affect your memory and recall. This would be a good time to get your sleep under control. I think that routine is the most important thing you can do for yourself to help with sleep problems. Aim to go to bed and to get up at the same time every day.

There are also lots of natural supplements to help you get a good night's sleep. If you are not experiencing stress on an ongoing basis and you know the stress/anxiety is directly associated with the exams you may find benefit from Rescue Remedy Night. You can choose from spray or drops. These are the same as Rescue Remedy which most of you will be familiar with, but the Night option has added White Chestnut. This is the remedy to switch off thoughts that torment you in the night.

Rescue Remedy or the Rescue Remedy Night might be the perfect product to help you get to sleep. If this is not for you then take a look at New Nordic Melissa Dream, it contains a mixture of magnesium, chamomile, L-Theanine, Lemon Balm, and B Vitamins. It can help you to get a good night sleep and may help with focus and clarity the next day.

There are lots of different natural remedies that can help you deal with stress and anxiety, and remedies to help with sleep. It might be better to call in or to give us a call to discuss it with us so that we know we are making the best recommendation we can to help you.

Exercise can help reduce stress

Exercise can help reduce stress, a short walk or a quick exercise session could be enough to help get those happy hormones going again. Don't overdue the exercise or push yourself too hard right now, be kind to yourself and keep it gentle and simple.

Avoid caffeine and stimulants, make sure to keep hydrated and drink plenty of water.  A cup of relaxing herbal tea before bed could help you to switch off and relax. There are lots of herbal teas to help. For example Salus Lemon Balm is a great choice to help relaxation and anxiety. Pukka Peace Tea with Ashwagandha is a good choice for stress and relaxation but I would take this one about two hours before bed. Chamomile is a classic herbal tea to aid with relaxation. Eat a good variety of foods for energy and concentration and you should be well on your way to success.

Trust yourself. If you have seen it or heard it you can recall it, relax and let the memory come back to you.

The best of luck to all of you doing exams this year.
